Back from Vacation

Posted by Francie

So , I just got back Saturday from the annual family extravaganza to Canada!  It was a great vacation, full of fishing and family and a lot of fun :) .  I caught some pike, had a great time camping on the island, and of course the required trip up the Temagami water tower after Mass and dinner at Busy Bee.  There was a lot of cards and games, including exciting games of double deck cancellation hearts and settlers, both of which I won!  I went canoeing, relaxed at the cabin and read, and had awesome wild blueberry pie.  I also missed John a lot.  No more long vacations away allowed.

It was kind of nice to get a short break from all the wedding planning, I hardly even thought about it up there.  It’s fun getting excited about it all over again now that I’m back, though.  We stopped and looked at wedding rings while we were on a  bike ride Sunday, that was a lot of fun, we found some very nice ones.  My next project is to find a wedding dress!  woo hoo!  Thats all for now :)

Wedding WAR

Posted by John

Just thought I’d update the blog with a weekly activity report.

We met with Fr. Haemmerle on Saturday to get the paper work started and get details on the pre-cana preparations they require.  He gave us a whole bunch more stuff to read.  *ugh* I have enough scholarly work as it is! :X

Also, we’ve settled on Christy’s to cater our wedding.  Their pot roast is awesome!!

Finally, I think I’ve made a huge mistake with this pictures thing.  Maybe I’ll become numb to the embarrassment by May.  Maybe.  In the meanwhile, we need some pictures of F-bomb up there!  She won’t be embarrassed at all, but at least it will push mine off the front page!!  Let’s get working on that people!

To be a Tobe!

Posted by Francie

So i was showing this awesome page to a friend at work the other day, and she said, “Ha, John and Francie to be, that’s cute.” I then had to explain that it was not “to be” but Tobe, John’s last name. But I think her mistake was pretty cool, I had never noticed that little play on words with my future last name before. :)

In other exciting news, we have a reception hall!! My parents and John and I had a fun day Sunday of going to see two halls that I had it narrowed down to, with Mass and yummy Chinese buffet in between. We really liked both of the halls, it was hard for me to pick one. Then we found out yesterday that one of the halls was actually reserved on May 16, so that pretty much decided for us. So our wedding reception will be at the Polish Club! I am very excited about it, it’s a great place. They just remodeled the whole place a few years ago and it looks wonderful. It’s not the fanciest place we looked at, but I was not really in the market for anything super-elegant. We’ll save money and have more available to do more important fun things. (I think a chocolate fountain would be sweet, just throwing that out there. ;) Anyway, my favorite part about our hall is that is has a HUGE dance floor! I’m super excited to dance the night away with all of you on it!

We Could Be In Pictures

Posted by John

It’s fairly standard at receptions to have pictures of the couple growing up, so I started a group on flickr to collect said photos.  If you have a flickr/yahoo account, join the group, upload the photos of us you’d like to add and add them to the group.  If you don’t have an account, I have two set up for general use: HessTobe@yahoo.com and HessTobe1@yahoo.com with the password of francie’s initials followed by mine. You can login to one of these accounts and upload via web browser, grab one of the tools to upload a bigger batch, or simply email them to higher74sip@photos.flickr.com or last05knew@photos.flickr.com.  If you have any questions email me or leave a comment. So start sending them in! Thanks!

Woo Hoo!

Posted by Francie

Well hello there friends :)   I think i’m finally starting to get the hang of how to use this page.  Thanks to John for putting it up and teaching me, i LOVE IT!  I can’t wait to do more with it in the future like wedding details and registry stuff.  Tomorrow we are going to my parent’s for dinner and to look at a few reception halls, should be fun.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed we find something great, it will be nice to have that all set and be able to plan more of the fun stuff.  That’s all for now, more to come!

I took my sweet time doing it but I finally proposed to Francie.  After she got ahold of herself she said Yes! :)   Can’t write much more now, I’ll let her tell the whole story.
