Following what’s becoming a growing trend, we met each other online. I’m not very sociable by nature and left to the “normal” means of dating I’d never asked a girl out on a date. I’m uncomfortable approaching people I’m not familiar with IRL and I always feared the repercussions of asking friends who I assumed didn’t like me that way. That nearly eliminates the usual options, so about a year before I met Francie I started looking for love online. Online social sites allowed me to talk to strangers that I wouldn’t approach otherwise. I went on a fair number of dates and met some nice girls but didn’t find anything lasting. Around my 25th birthday I spotted a profile on CatholicMatch for a nurse named Francie. I wasn’t sure about the name at first, but there was something about the picture that I kept looking at it… something explosive, like a sort of bomb:
So I sent her a message with my email and IM information. She left me an IM late at night and the next day I was off from work and chatted with her all afternoon. Right after I left the computer I decided to ask her to dinner at LaRosa’s that night since I actually had a free evening. That first date went well and after a few more dates I was hooked.

Haha, so I actually had to check wikipedia to discover that “IRL” meant “In Real Life.” Need to work on my computer lingo apparently. Also, if you think that saying that my picture is “something explosive… sort of like a bomb” is going to make me like the nickname F-Bomb, well… it might work, it is kind of growing on me. <3
